“I really feel like the Lord has been calling me to personal ministry in music—almost like what I’ve been doing my whole life,” Canaan Coffman said.

With her dad being a pastor and her mom being a worship leader, Canaan was introduced to Jesus at a young age. When she was around 9 years old, her family started doing ministry, traveling and singing at churches and events.

By the time she was in high school, her family’s ministry was full time. While there were some difficult moments during those years of traveling and doing online school, Canaan said, “I learned that in my loneliness, I can rely on Jesus.”

Canaan uses social media as an outlet to minister to Gen Z. While she’s more concerned with providing a quality message than gaining followers, she has been steadily growing a community through her music and artistry.

It was also through social media that she first learned about Pulse 100. Canaan said her initial reaction was, “This is amazing, but what’s the catch?” It seemed too good to be true. She’s since been amazed by all of the resources Pulse 100 provides without having to worry about finances.

One of the biggest things Canaan has learned is that “opportunities for evangelism are everywhere.” During the retreat in Washington, D.C., Canaan and her friends had the opportunity to start a conversation and pray over two men who were visiting from Germany. “It made me so on fire to want to talk to more people like that,” Canaan said. She reiterated that there are truly endless opportunities to share the Gospel with others if we allow the Holy Spirit to help us lay down our pride and give us courage.
